{"id":10917,"date":"2019-07-07T12:32:36","date_gmt":"2019-07-07T12:32:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ayf.com\/?p=10917"},"modified":"2019-07-07T12:32:36","modified_gmt":"2019-07-07T12:32:36","slug":"4th-of-july-in-boys-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ayf.com\/4th-of-july-in-boys-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"4th of July in Boys Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cCelebration\u201d was the theme for today in Boys\u2019 Camp.\u00a0 As the nation celebrated the 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July, we paid tribute with a special day of activities.\u00a0 Beginning with flag raising from our coordinators, campers were treated with a special \u201cRed, White, and Blue\u201d breakfast that included pancakes served in the colors of our country\u2019s flag!<\/p>\n<p>After breakfast, the July temperatures began to soar, so camp staff organized \u201cWet and Wild Water World\u201d or otherwise known as \u201cH2Whoa!\u201d\u00a0 Sprinklers, Slip and Slides, wet sponges, and lots of music led to a great morning filled with cool water,\u00a0 many smiles, and lots of fun.\u00a0 A celebration indeed!<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cWheel of Destiny\u201d topped off a delicious lunch, as campers were informed of their topics for this evening\u2019s Low Council. \u00a0\u00a0After a much needed rest time, campers accepted the \u201cUltimate Clean Cabin Challenge\u201d and brooms, dust pans began to whirl around the cabins and bays.\u00a0 Yes, we even celebrate cleaning here at Miniwanca!<\/p>\n<p>As the holiday carried on, so to did the fun!\u00a0 Campers worked the m-fold (mental) by developing some outrageous skits for the Night\u2019s Doings.\u00a0 Summer blockbusters, cooking shows, and podcasts were just a few of the themes highlighting each cabin group\u2019s creativity.\u00a0 Low Council brought boisterous laughter and council reveled in \u201cStanding O\u2019s\u201d as campers brought their finest acting skills to center stage.<\/p>\n<p>As our nation\u2019s birthday drew to a close, we continued the celebration while viewing fireworks launched over Stony Lake.\u00a0 The sizzle, pop, and amazing colors blasted across the summer sky, but also reflected off the lake\u2019s water.\u00a0 And as the grand finale ended our show, we too reflected about our joyous 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July celebration at Camp Miniwanca.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cCelebration\u201d was the theme for today in Boys\u2019 Camp.\u00a0 As the nation celebrated the 4th of July, we paid tribute with a special day of activities.\u00a0 Beginning with flag raising from our coordinators, campers were treated with a special \u201cRed, White, and Blue\u201d breakfast that included pancakes served in the colors of our country\u2019s flag!
